#UnblockYourBusiness

Hello there! Well it’s been a very exciting couple of weeks here, supporting Lisa Johnson in her Race to Recurring Revenue passive income challenge and with the launch of One To Many, her signature passive income programme.

As you may or may not know, Lisa has created an enormously successful business, she’s turning over multiple 7 figures annually - and just to give you an idea of the scale, we had over 10,500 people register for the challenge this time, which is just huge! Most challenges you’re talking a couple of hundred people, max. So this was a bit of a departure for me because as you may have gathered if you’ve been following me for a while, I’m not big on challenges and hype and lots of social media promotion. It’s something I’ve talked a lot about pretty extensively on the podcast and I’ve been working on moving my business away from social media because I find it all a bit of a time-suck. But I wanted to do this for several reasons and it’s been quite an eye-opening experience for me in many ways, so I wanted to talk to you today a bit more about that - about the reasons I did it, what it’s been like partnering such a big launch and what I’ve learnt over the past few weeks! Ok, let’s dive in with the reasons I decided to do it first of all.

1. To learn from Lisa

Mentoring is an incredibly powerful tool! I have a theory that if you want to be a great business person, one of the best things you can do is to learn from one who has already walked the path you want to take and - most importantly - done it in the way you would want to do it. Now I know Lisa is massive on integrity in business and doesn’t do pressure sales or anything that puts people in an unfair position, and she supports people who can’t afford her courses and programmes - and that’s really important to me, too.

So, when the opportunity came up to partner with Lisa I thought it was literally too good for me to miss. Yes it was going to be hard work, yes it was going to push me out of my comfort zone, yes it was going to mean not focusing on some of my own projects for a while - but watching how someone like Lisa runs her business could have a huge impact on how I do things, so better to take some time to focus on that rather than plod on doing things my own way. Yes I’m a massive believer in listening to yourself in business, I lose track of how many times I’ve said that! But I also really believe we should never stop learning, absorbing new information and keeping the bits that apply to us.

2. To be around other motivating and inspiring people

There is nothing like being in a group of driven people, all motivated to achieve a particular outcome. We inherently get sucked along with the crowd all the time - we can’t help but be influenced by our environment and the people around us - so we might as well make that an environment full of positive and inspiring people!

And if there’s a bit of healthy competition and collaboration in the mix, that’s also brilliant for spurring you on and encouraging you to stretch and expand your comfort zone without even really realising you’re doing it. Other people ask the questions you hadn’t thought of asking! They struggle with the same things you’re struggling with. And if they’re already playing at a higher level than you in their businesses - you start to see what’s possible and what they’re doing that’s different from what you’re doing. That’s why I’m a huge fan of being in a motivated group of people - it helps spur you on. And of course it’s always great to make new connections in business - you never know where they will lead!

3. I really believe in passive income!

As you’ll have heard in my episode a couple of weeks ago, Why Passive Income is Possible for You (and Essential for a Sustainable Business), I absolutely think passive or leveraged income is something we ALL need to consider building into our businesses to protect ourselves, whatever happens economically or in the day-to-day running of our businesses.

So this felt like something I could really get behind and promote in absolute integrity with me and my brand, knowing that I was really helping my audience by doing that. There are plenty of affiliate and partnership opportunities out there in the world but I think it’s so important to be mindful of what you’re getting behind and how that reflects on you and your brand - and honestly, you’ll always do a much better job of promoting something you really believe in!

4. To prove to myself and you guys that you don’t lose loyal subscribers by selling

This is something I’ve said for such a long time, having observed and followed coaches who literally sell on every single post or email. Thinking about the people you follow - if they’re giving value and helping you, you don’t mind - or even really notice - the sales piece, right?

But to be honest, although I rationally know this, I’ve had to step right outside my own comfort zone in the past couple of years to get in the habit of regularly putting out sales posts and mentioning my own services. It DID feel cringey and difficult at first, and I gradually overcame that as I learned to stop looking at selling in the same way.

But, I’ve noticed recently that I’ve found a new comfortable level - and that might be limiting my business and limiting my audience’s chances to benefit from what I’m putting out there!

So I knew that by taking part in promoting the challenge, I would be forced to test my comfort zone and to absorb Lisa’s comfort zone instead! And if Lisa Johson’s a multi 7-figure businesswoman, her comfort zone is good enough for me. And yes, I was right - over the period I’ve been talking about passive income and the challenge to my email list and actively promoting it, I haven’t lost any followers. I’ve had a few unsubscribes, but no more than normal. And in fact, I’ve actually gained followers - my email list has grown by about 10% within the past month!

So it just goes to show, you need to keep questioning your boundaries and whether they’re real or imaginary. Which brings me on to…

5. It’s easy to get too comfortable

Not just with promoting your services, but with everything in your business and marketing!

We are avoidant by nature and we even avoid the things that would be good for us, the things we need to do to grow and challenge ourselves.

And I’ve talked a LOT over the past year about building your business in complete alignment with how you want to do things. Trusting your gut, playing to your strengths - that is really, really important. You’ve got to be in this business for a long time, so don’t do things you hate or which really exhaust you!

But sometimes, we can be too quick to write things off. We try something and it feels a little bit uncomfortable or tiring, and we decide instantly that that whole thing isn’t for us and it could never be part of our business. I got a bit like that with challenges and social media hype last year! And it’s felt SO good to focus on the areas of my business and marketing that I really love… but I also know that’s a BIG door to close, write it off and say I’m never going there again. And I think sometimes it isn’t that something isn’t for us and could never fit comfortably in our business, it’s more that the way we’ve done it hasn’t worked, or our first experience wasn’t that great for various reasons. And I think before we completely write something off, it’s good to explore that - could I do this differently? Was there something in my approach that didn’t help me?

So, rather than committing myself to running my own challenge to find that out, partnering with Lisa and her challenge has allowed me to experience launching and challenges without it being all on me. I must admit, when I did One To Many last year Lisa really opened my eyes to the ways I could be doing things differently, and helped me feel much better about the process - now, having been through hers with her, it’s actually quite exciting!

So the main thing I learned through OTM, which has really been reinforced in these past couple of weeks, is that planning is a great thing when it comes to launches! Which is a no-brainer for many people but it’s never been my strongest suit, I’m very much a go-with-the-flow, flit from one thing to the next kind of person. I do have ADHD and that kind of goes with the territory! So whilst being spontaneous is great, I think it gets in my way at times and it’s something I’m really trying to work on in my business - because I can see there are huge benefits in being more organised. And honestly, I think getting better at planning or getting someone to help me plan would allow me to do many more exciting things. So it’s been really good to challenge my own B.S. around challenges, and I think we should all do that from time to time!

6. To set a deadline

I have known for quite a while that I’d like to get some of my own passive income ideas out there! When I did Lisa’s programme One To Many last year, I came up with a list of several courses I want to write and sell as part of my product ladder, so I could offer people flexible options that they could work on in their own time and really support them with exactly what they needed in their businesses at that moment in time. One of those ideas was to launch a business basics course to cover the essentials of marketing, which is still very much on the radar and I’ve been putting lots of work in behind the scenes to get ready to launch that.

But I also had some great ideas for how I could support people with their mindset, which is a huge struggle for so many people in business and is, of course, my favourite area of expertise. Now as you may or may not know, One To Many partners often offer bonuses to anyone signing up through their partner link! So I looked at that and I thought, ‘Do you know, this is the perfect opportunity to make sure I take action, get those courses together and launch them in time to offer them as bonuses for One To Many!’. We are inherently good at putting things off, so one of the best ways we can make sure we get things done is to commit - giving ourselves a deadline, giving ourselves no backout clause helps make sure we show up with absolute focus to get the job done. And I’m SO excited to have a reason to launch these courses but also to know that I’ll be really helping the people who join One To Many through my link, to get their mind in absolutely the right place to make a huge success of making passive income.

So if you ARE thinking of joining One To Many and you sign up through me, here’s what you’ll get. So my big bonus is a comprehensive course covering EVERY aspect of business mindset, helping you:

  • Overcome Imposter Syndrome & fear, so you can show up with confidence and take the steps you need to take to get fully booked or sell your products with confidence

  • Smash through your fears around getting visible - so you can go live, put out those social media posts without fear and stop dreading networking!

  • Learn how to harness your flow and creativity so you never feel stuck for inspiration again!

  • Learn how to get clear, focused and motivated so you can show up every day without procrastination, brain-fog or mindset monkeys getting in your way

  • Manage your time and energy so you can feel completely in control rather than losing hours to endless scrolling or tasks that get you nowhere

  • Adopt a CEO mindset so you feel absolutely confident in making the right decisions, saying no when you need to - and so you can prioritise time for you and the things that matter most in life as well as running a successful business

It’s called Imposter to Owning It and it will be available to purchase separately for £579.

The second bonus I’m offering is… a fabulous course to help you:

  • Charge with confidence - so you can charge what you’re worth rather than feeling afraid to put your prices up

  • Sell without feeling nervous and icky about it - so you can sell MORE of your wonderful services or products and feel great doing it!

  • Work through your existing limiting beliefs around money and your self-worth, which is a HUGE underlying issue for many women in business, so that you can create a whole new world of financial possibility and confidence with money.

  • We’ll dive deep into manifesting, how to do it properly and the science behind why it works, and I’ll tell you how manifestation and the science of wealth-creation can work hand-in-hand to help you create the lifestyle of your dreams.

That’s my ‘So Much More than Money Mindset’ course and it will be available for sale separately at £347.

Finally… no, I’m going to keep that one up my sleeve for now! But if you do want to hear about my third bonus course and how you could win a free 1:1 session with me, I’d love to invite you to a Masterclass & workshop I’m running for anyone who’s interested in making passive income.

It’s called Let’s Make Money and it’s on 1st April at 11.15am - but it’ll be recorded and sent out to anyone who can’t make it at that time. To join me and learn 3 secrets for successfully making passive income, plus 3 mindset hacks that are going to help you in any business - AND have the chance to ask me any questions, live, just join my newsletter The A List and I’ll send you your invitation!

Can’t wait to meet you and hear your questions.

Until then, I hope this episode has been useful and insightful! I guess my main takeaway message for today is, it’s always good to keep looking for new opportunities to challenge yourself and question yourself. If you’re working with a coach they can do that for you, to an extent - but never be afraid to dig a little bit deeper and push yourself a little bit further out of that comfort zone. You might just surprise yourself!
